About the Event

The busyness of our lives runs through our days and even into our nights and dreams. We are open to disruption and distraction every day, all day. At any moment, we can be interrupted by the ringing of a doorbell, the ping of a laptop or the vibrational buzz from the phone in our pocket; even our digital calendars demand our attention to commit to the next planned engagement. Success is often denoted by how busy our lives are, but at the pace we are living, we can quickly become numb to the sensitivity of our senses.

But our movement practice can teach us to pause, slow down, and create more space and time. When we slow down, we pick up and absorb so much information around us that is often missed, and our presence becomes amplified; our connection to the moment, ourselves, and each other deepens. Movement-based practices are thought of as exerting energy and depleting our vitality. We don't tend to think of it as energy efficient or conservation, and we live in a world burning our fuel all day, and it's consuming us.

This one-day workshop focuses on efficient and effective movement, feeling the rich and delicious elixir of slow motion to drop, soak, and strengthen our bodies and minds. And feel all the sensations that are sometimes missed.

In the morning practice, prepare to move to the beat of vinyasa, where we cultivate heat and strengthen through deliberate, intentional, slow movement and create stability and grace in every connection in each moment.

In the afternoon, learn to listen and trust the body as you navigate a heart-melting restorative flow and then be guided through a restful nidra.

Learning outcomes:

· Design and create exhilarating transitions that support complex spontaneous movement.

· Understand critical aspects for developing profound strength and elasticity in your flow.

· Learn accessible techniques to align as you transition and refine your technique.

· Slow-motion motion is applied to intensify and deepen the experience and to create more time and space.

· Carve out time and space for contemplation and self-enquiry.
